Screener templates save the screening questions from one study so you can reuse them. Use a template when several studies need the same qualifying questions.

Save Screening Questions as a Template

  1. Open the study editor and find the Screening Section.
  2. Click Save or load template.
  3. Click Save as template. This option appears when the screening section has at least one question.
  4. Type a name for the template.
  5. Click Save, or press Enter.

Load a Template Into a Study

  1. Open the study editor and find the Screening Section.
  2. Click Save or load template.
  3. Click Load template, then click the template you want.
Loading a template replaces all screening questions in the study. Questions in other sections stay. Save the current screener as a template first if you need it.

Rename or Delete a Template

Rename and delete options appear only when the screening section matches a template. The template name replaces Save or load template on the button.
  1. Click the template name in the Screening Section.
  2. Click Rename, type the new name, then click Rename.
  3. To remove the template, click Delete. The template is deleted at once.

Template Facts

  • A template belongs to your workspace, not to one study.
  • A template stores the screening questions, their answer options, and the approve or reject rules.
  • Each template name is unique in its workspace.
  • Editing a question after you load a template detaches it. Save again with the same name to update the template.
  • Deleting a template does not change the screening questions in the study.
  • Only people who can edit a study see the template menu. Every template in the workspace appears in that menu.
Saving with a name that already exists replaces that template. Before you save, the menu shows This will overwrite and the template name.
