Workspace guidelines give your team standard instructions. There are two kinds:
  • Study guidelines shape the studies your team creates.
  • Analysis guidelines shape the reports and presentations for your studies.
Only Admins can edit guidelines. Other members can view them, but cannot change them.

Where to Find Guidelines

Click Workspace in the left sidebar. Both guidelines are in the Study configuration card.

Study Guidelines

Study guidelines apply to new studies created in your workspace. The AI follows them when it creates a study. Study checks also use them to flag issues in a study that does not follow them.
  • Study guidelines can have up to 15,000 characters.
  • They affect study content and structure only. They do not change visual design or recruitment settings.
  • Write them in plain text. For example: “Always collect email addresses at the end.”

Analysis Guidelines

Analysis guidelines apply when reports and presentations are generated for studies in your workspace. This includes studies that use a report template.
  • The AI prefers analysis guidelines over its general guidance.
  • They can steer the analysis. For example, they can set which segments the AI uses to break down findings.
  • Instructions you give for a specific report still take precedence.
  • Analysis guidelines can have up to 10,000 characters.
Study guidelines apply to new studies. Study checks can flag issues in any study that does not follow them. Update your guidelines before you start a new research cycle.
